I Bought A Jeep!
My first car in life was the Barbie Take-Along Tunes Jeep, an electric kids car that was released by Mattel in 2002 when I was six years old. I don’t have very many photos of myself growing up, and unfortunately don’t have any photos of myself driving around in that Jeep, but I remember the joy it brought me and the devastation I felt when it eventually stopped charging. In 2024, I rented a small car while staying in San Francisco but was given a Jeep Wrangler Sahara because that’s all they had left on the lot. The minute I drove that Jeep a love ignited in me I hadn’t felt since I was a kid. I became completely obsessed with that Jeep, it was my favorite part of that whole trip. Ever since then, I’ve tried to rent a Jeep anytime I travel. While in Monterey the following year, I left a duck on someone’s well traveled Jeep Wrangler with a note explaining I could only afford to rent jeeps for the time being, but it was my greatest wish to someday have one of my own. I’m convinced that act manifested my dream Jeep into existence, because after a series of unexpected events, I achieved my dream of buying a Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. This is the very first car that’s ever been entirely my own, and I’m so excited for the adventures it’s going to take me on.
